La descrizione fisica è una delle prime cose che si imparano in inglese.
Iniziamo con le basi e poi andiamo alle cose strane o meno probabili.
Corporatura (build):
magro -> thin, slim
grasso / grosso -> fat, big
muscoloso -> muscular
in forma -> fit
Capelli:
lunghi: long
corti: short
ricci: curly
lisci: straight
neri: black
castani: brown
biondi: blonde
Esempi: I have got short straight black hair
You have curly brown hair
ecc
Passiamo alle cose più elaborate.
Cieco -> blind
Cicatrice -> scar
Brufoli -> pimples
Benda sull'occhio -> a patch on an/the eye
Sedia a rotelle -> wheelchair
Barba -> beard
Pizzetto -> goatee
Baffi -> moustache
Basette -> sideburns
Mento -> chin
Mascella -> jaw
Occhiali -> glasses
Bandana -> bandana
Anelli -> rings
Prendiamo alcune immagini come esempio:
Proviamo una descrizione: Jack Sparrow has got long straight black hair and black eyes. He's got a bandana on his head and many rings on his fingers. He is wearing brown boots, dark brown trousers, a white shirt and a blue/purple jacket. He has a gun, a treasure, a rope, a hat and a bell.
fingers = dita
gun = pistola o simili
treasure = tesoro
rope = corda
hat = cappello
bell = campana, campanello
This guy has got black hair and black eyes. He is wearing black rectangular glasses. He has got a moustache and a chinstrap beard. He is wearing a blue tanktop.
Chinstrap beard = un tipo di barba che va dalle basette e segue la mascella, ma che non arriva fino all'altezza delle labbra, come fa una normale barba. Insomma, chinstrap beard è la barba che ha questo tizio.
Tanktop: la maglietta senza maniche.
This faceless person is probably blind. He has a cane and he's wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket and a blue/black pullover. He has also got black shoes that look like slippers.
Cane = bastone, di solito da passeggio.
Slippers = ciabatte
